The Animas, when it matters

Pine Crag is not on the water. The Animas is west of the counter at 150 E College Drive. We do not put in, and we do not run a shuttle.

Most errands here have nothing to do with the river. A torn panel, a bent stake, a wool crew for a cold street. Leave the water out of it until you are actually beside it.

It matters on a cold morning on the bank. Air off the Animas sits colder than the air on College Drive. A canister that felt fine in the shop can go dull out there. If you mean to boil breakfast beside the river, take the liquid-fuel stove, and a wool layer for the wait. The burner heats the pot. It does not heat you.

Wind on gravel is ordinary. Buy the screen, and leave a gap so a canister is not shut inside a wall of aluminum. Set the burner on mineral ground, not on a sheet that can melt.

Canvas is for staying beside the river, not in it. On loose stone, take angle stakes. Needle stakes walk out of gravel. That is the whole note. We still do not guide, and the door hours are on the board.
